Services, Inc. Weatherization
Program Provides free
weatherization services to improve the energy efficiency of homes, including
attic insulation, weather-stripping, minor housing repairs, and related
energy conservation measures. Available to households approx. every five
years. Eligibility: Must meet

energy-saving programs offered through providers/agencies such as PG&E

provides grants and/or loans to very-low income homeowners in homes
considered modest for the area. Grants limited to those age 62+. Mobile homes
may be eligible if the site is owned by the applicant and home is on a
permanent foundation or will be, with Section 504 funds. Call office for

Homeless & Transitional Housing
64-bed short-term emergency housing for families and
individuals. May include dinner and clothing. Links to other programs offered
through Ford Street Project. Arrive between Homeless intervention . Emergency motel vouchers and
referral services. Thurs. lunch provided from Crisis Line 24-hour telephone service administered by the Multi-program agency serving Transitional Housing Program: Housing at
several locations for 6 months to 2 years as a bridge between shelter and
permanent housing. Includes case management and services to increase
self-sufficiency. Hospitality House 26-bed emergency shelter. 3-day stay limit unless working
with a social services program or w/ Coast Community Center Transitional
Housing. Congregate dinner served Project Sanctuary 24-hour Crisis Line............................................. 800-575-HELP
(4357) Services to prevent and lessen the effects of domestic
violence and sexual assault including emergency safe shelter for battered
women and their children. Also, a transitional housing program available in

through various local organizations. See www.ukiahcommunitycenter.org. Willits Community Services (WCS) Emergency assistance with food, transportation, shelter,
blankets, utilities, prescriptions, cooking propane, formula, etc.
Community Development Commission
(CDC) Rental subsidy program for low-income residents. Section 8,
housing choice vouchers and public housing. Habitat for Humanity Of The Helps families in
need to build simple, decent, affordable housing, through volunteer labor and
donations of money/materials. Houses are sold to partner families at no
profit and are financed with affordable, no-interest mortgages. Eligibility:
Owner families invest 500 hours of their own labor and sweat equity into
building their houses and houses of others. Service area: Rural Communities Housing
Development Corporation (RCHDC) Subsidized housing, property management services, and self-help
